Tom Gaffney, CEO and Founder

Grove Strategic Partners was founded by experienced technology executive, Tom Gaffney. After holding technology leadership positions for startup companies for over fifteen years, Tom founded Grove Startegic Parners with a desire to help companies manage from vision through to successful execution. Tom previously held technology executive positions with Globix Corporation, Syncsort Inc, ROO Media Group, KickApps Corporation, and KIT Digital.

From his first professional experience providing Technical Support to end users, Tom has remained focused on the necessities of creating a reliable product and providing exceptional customer support.

During the dot com boom, Tom led the Professional Services, Managed Services and Support teams for Globix Corporation, a leading provider of Internet infrastructure, network services and colocation datacenters. Tom’s organization was responsible for the 24×7 infrastructure management and operations for a number of the most popular websites during that timeframe. Tom was part of the leadership team that helped grow Globix Corporation from a small regional ISP to a global organization with multiple datacenters and a market cap of over $1.5 billion.

Following his experience at Globix, Tom started the Professional Services team for Syncsort Inc, a leading provider of data performance and backup solutions. During his tenure with Syncsort, Tom’s team was responsible for deploying data protection, business continuity and continuity of operations plans for a number of Fortune 1000 companies, government organizations and military units stationed around the world.

Tom later served as the Vice President for Global Operations for ROO Media Group, where he expanded the company’s online video platform and customer base. In this role, Tom helped implement a revised Operations model, which dramatically reduced cost and improved overall customer satisfaction.

Most recently, Tom served as the EVP of Client Services for KickApps, where Tom and his team were responsible for developing Social Media solutions and websites for brands such as U2, Dr. Oz, Scripps Networks, The Weather Channel, and many others. Additionally, Tom was a member of the senior management team which facilitated a successful exit, via acquisition by KIT Digital, in early 2011.
